bloggers in the sky: details announced

The Goal: To get as many bloggers as possible together for a spectacular skydiving extravaganza

When We’re Jumping: Saturday March 14th

Where We’re Jumping: Skydive Santa Barbara

How to Sign Up: All current (and future) details will be posted on the Bloggers in the Sky page, reachable through the navigation bar up top.

What are you waiting for?

This is going to be the craziest, wildest, most unique blogger meet up ever, and you should absolutely come.  The more people we have, the cheaper (and crazier) it will be, so if you’ve ever wanted to skydive, or if you’ve ever wanted to meet other bloggers, or BOTH, sign up to be part of Bloggers in the Sky!

While you’re signing up, or while you’re laughing that I’m a total crazy face and thinking “Hell no I’m not doing that, and gee, I hope she doesn’t die,” my mind is constantly restless with all of the excitment and hoopla for this event.  And yet, in the midst of said hoopla, I wonder what’s next.  After I get an amazing group of bloggers together to jump from 13,000 feet in the air- then what?

Because I think the secret to a truly adventurous (and fulfilling) lifestyle is always having your plans  in different phases.  When one thing is about to happen, another should be halfway planned, and yet anther should be in the brainstorming phase, that way you’re never without something to look forward to and you’re never without something to actually do.

Which brings me back to the question, what’s next?

Should I just go to the airport one Friday and get on the next available flight?  Should I swim with dolphins?  Should I take a road trip?  Should I try to meet a celebrity?  Climb a mountain?

What would you do if you weren’t afraid?

No seriously, tell me. I’ll pick one and actually do it. Or maybe I’ll pick a bunch of them and just keep doing them back to back.

Hell, maybe I’ll try to do all of them! Either way, your answer is an entry into today’s giveaway (day 3 of 5!), for the following prize: 6 months worth of Nicole Antoinette’s Homemade Goodies (basically one care package of deliciousness per month for 6 months).

Oh and believe me, I wouldn’t offer this if I didn’t have total egotistical faith in my baking abilities.

If I had the money, I’d totally take the next available flight to ..anywhere.

Ohoh oh.. and that skydiving thing sounds terribly exciting even though I doubt I could ever go through with something like that

Bloggers in the Sky sounds like so much fun! I’ve always wanted to skydive and I am truly sad I won’t get to be there.

As for the next thing: Hop on a plane. Period.

If I weren’t afraid, I would drop everything and try to find a job in Wales and live there for a few months.

For something less drastic, I’m with all of you–get on the next flight to anywhere. With my luck it would be San Antonio or Houston (I’m in Austin), so I would add the caveat that it had to be more than 800 miles away to ensure I at least get out of Texas!

Skydiving sounds like a blast–I’ll probably be snorkeling in Belize then, so have an amazing time, and keep telling us all about it!

If I weren’t afraid I think I would leave corporate America and get a job that I loved even if it was low paying. Also, I’m sad I won’t be at bloggers in the sky!

Wow. Nicole you’re nuts but I love it! I can’t make it but I would *actually* consider skydiving with you, that’s how much faith I have in your baking. = )

I would crap myself and projectile vomit if I had to jump out of plane. I am totally afraid of heights, not just randomly gross.

If I could do anything, I’d hop planes from one continent to another until I’d visited them all, taking the first or one of the first departing flights to a destination that appealed to me.

I think you’re totally crazy for skydiving, but I admire all the changes you’ve been making in your life lately. You go girl!

If I wasn’t afraid, I’d drop everything and move to another country.

Seriously, like right now.

Just pack up my pup and leave.

It sounds crazy… but it sounds fun….. I may have to think about it. Can we follow it by some sort of wine tour. There’s wine up there right?

If we’re talking about things where fear (and not money) is the only thing holding me back then I would ask my girlfriend a certain question.

If not then I would just pack some clothes, buy a plane ticket, and backpack across Europe.

I would quit my (good, fun, and rewarding) job and go to law school.

I think you should hop on a plane to anywhere. That would be awesome… and then of course blog about it. :-)

As for the skydiving, damn. Too soon for me. Unless some person decides to give me boat loads of money. Hmm. That would be nice. :-)

Take a job “downrange” as in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, etc… and start all over in a new place learning an exciting new culture.

If I weren’t afraid…I would:

* Quit my job and see if being a freelance designer, badass crafter
* Talk to everyone and everyone – meet the guy behind me in Starbucks, the girl reaching for a bag of organic apples in Trader Joes at the same time as me, the lady on the airplane.
* Go live overseas for a few years.

And so much more.

I loved skydiving when I did it in Hawaii – have fun!! :)

Well, I wouldn’t go sky diving if I wasn’t afraid, but I applaud you for doing it!

Instead, I’d move to another city. If only I wasn’t so afraid :-)

I LOVE skydiving. If you’re still living in Cali next time I visit, we’ll have to do go sky diving together! I just recently doing solo jumps (without the instructor) and it’s so much fun.

You should DEFINITELY go to the airport and get on the next flight. I would love to do this!

I would probably do something crazy like jump out of a plane. Bloggers in the Sky sounds like so much fun!!

I’ve always wanted to sky dive. I think this idea of yours is brilliant! That is going to one hell of an experience. How many people do you have so far?

And hmm, I’m having trouble of thinking of what I would do. I was thinking having a trustworthy friend buy you a plane ticket to anywhere and you not knowing where in the hell you are going until you land.

The other is kind of weird. But honestly, if I wasn’t so scared of crazy social interaction, I would bear hug at least 100 strangers.

I totally vouch for your baking skills. The peppermint bark is AWESOME. ;)

I wish more than you will ever know that I was going to jump out of a plane with all of you fabulous people! Stupid New York being on the other side of the country…grr.

Anyway, if I weren’t afraid? I’d quit my job, move to Hawaii (or somewhere less cliched but equally warm) and write.

Oooh, this will be so fun! The rush from skydiving is irreplaceable. I wish you could get that same rush from like…skipping or something! I will be flying to Cali on that day so I will look out my window for free falling bloggers.

If I wasn’t afraid… I’d pierce my nose. Small, but I’m totally afraid it will get infected and scar, etc. I don’t feel like I can risk that on something as prominent as my nose, as small and buttonlike as it may be.

If I didn’t live on the opposite coast, I’d totally be there! Can’t wait to hear all about it, though!
